
Ronald Roy Quint, age 73, of Hays, Kansas passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at his home in Hays, Kansas. He was born on November 18, 1952, in Garden City, Kansas to Clarence and Elvie May (Brollier) Quint.
Ronald ‘s childhood was spent in Liberal, Kansas until his middle school days before his family moved to Hays. He then attended St. Joseph’s Military Academy and graduated in 1971 from Thomas More Prep. After high school he attended Vo-Tech studying in the welding and culinary programs. In 1975 he married Connie (Carl) and they later divorced.
He moved from Victoria, Kansas to Osborne in 2021, returning to Hays in 2026. Ronald worked as a CNA at St. John’s of Victoria and then transferred to Via Christi Village in Hays. He also worked as a bus driver for USD 489 in Hays and a janitor for the Osborne, Kansas school district.
Ronald enjoyed outdoor activities and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and loved to bow hunt and cook. He was a member of the Kansas Bow Hunters Association, The Basilica if St. Fidelis as well as attended church at St. Nicholas of Myra in Hays and St. Aloysius in Osborne.
Survivors include his daughters, Sara Quint and Derrick Turner of Hays and Molly Wilkens and Levi of Hays; a brother, Gene Quint of Lincoln, Illinois; two sisters, Rhonda Zimmerman and Dewain of Lowman, Idaho and Maria Abel of Vail, Arizona; six grandchildren, Trinity Quint, Deondre Broom, Kyan Quint, Declan, Elliot and Corbin Wilkens; a great granddaughter, Namari Quint and the mother of his children, Connie Quint of Hays.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Galen Abel and a sister-in-law, Patricia Quint.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 7, 2026, at The Basilica of Saint Fidelis, 900 Cathedral Ave, Victoria, Kansas with Celebrant, Fr. Vincent Mary Carrasco, OFM Cap.
Burial will be in Saint Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas. A Vigil Service and Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Friday, at The Basilica of Saint Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas.
