FHSU Sociology Program
The Fort Hays State University (FHSU) Program, alongside the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, is teaming up with Ana’s Gift to bring smiles and comfort to local children facing difficult situations.
Created in memory of Ana Rose Hertel, the late 17-year-old daughter of Stan and Lori Hertel, Ana’s Gift provides plush companions to children in need when they need extra support.
We are collecting brand-new stuffed animals (with tags intact) for the drive. To ensure they provide the most comfort possible while meeting collection guidelines, donated stuffed animals should be on the larger side, up to 14” tall by 10” wide.
“A simple stuffed animal can restore a child’s comfort and security in a moment of crisis or need. Ana’s Gift has helped countless Ellis County children find a soft friend when they need it most,” said Dr. Bradley Will, interim dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at FHSU.
Donations will be collected through the end of the month of October and can be dropped off at the FHSU Sociology Program office, Rarick 145, or the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences office, Rarick Hall 101, during university business hours. You may also ship stuffed animals to the FHSU Sociology Program at 600 Park St., Rarick Hall 145, Hays, KS 67601.
Please contact the FHSU Sociology Program with any questions about the donation drive at 785-628-5840 or by email at sociology@fhsu.edu.
